Training: Close Protection Firearms Course

The Nemesis firearms course is designed for Close Protection Officers and other security personnel employed overseas, where the carriage of weapons is deemed necessary and permitted by law, for instance hostile regions, such as Iraq and Afghanistan. It is also ideally suited for members of the Armed Forces and Police who have limited training opportunities within their organisations.

Due to UK legal restrictions, the training is conducted in Europe, using licensed ranges and local accommodation that offer excellent facilities. The instructors are professional trainers, who are operationally current and have either military or Police backgrounds, with extensive commercial experience.

On arrival, students are organised into CP Teams and operational role play is then adopted throughout the course, to maximise the learning opportunity. Drills and procedures carried out are based on best practice as currently used in high risk environments. Emphasis is placed on practical instruction, with relevant theory as appropriate, to develop handgun and support firearms proficiency to the highest possible standard in the time available.

On passing the stringent safety and competence assessments, Proficiency Certificates for each weapon will be awarded. Where applicable, these are based on UK Home Office / MOD standards. Further details are available by contacting The Nemesis Group Ltd.

Please note that students should be physically and medically fit, and be free of criminal convictions. Background checks will be carried out as a course pre-requisite.
