Training : Close Protection Protective Security

The Nemesis Group is an Approved Training Centre for the Bucks New University to deliver SIA endorsed qualifications. In addition to satisfying the licensing requirements which become mandatory from 20th March 2006, our course will have the added benefit of earning you 15 credits towards a Foundation Degree in Protective Security Management.

Our 4-week Protective Security Course has been specifically designed to meet the needs of the private sector and takes into account the requirements of mandatory licensing by the Security Industry Authority (SIA). The training of this course is conducted in Warwickshire.

Qualifications & Employment

• Pre-course documentation and preparation..
• Level 3 Certification in Protective Security with the Bucks New University and 15 credits towards the BCUC Foundation Degree in Protective Security Management.
  
• HSE 1st Aid at Work Certification.
• Certificate in Automated Defibrillator and Oxygen Therapy.
• Certificate in Paediatric First Aid.
• Certificate in Laryngeal Mask Airway.
• Assistance with CV, SIA licence and other matters pertaining to the profession.
• Assistance with employment.
  

Course Content

The SIA ‘Specification for Core Competency Training and Qualifications for Close Protection’ has been taken fully into account when devising the syllabus. Emphasis is placed on essential knowledge and skills required of today’s commercial Close Protection Officer. Relevant theory is delivered, supported by handouts and the latest audio visual aids.

Knowledge gained is applied in practical terms, by the use of role play and realistic scenarios. Written examinations and tutor assessment is carried out at various stages and the course culminates in a three day final exercise. On completion, students are graded and given a thorough course report.

• Surveillance Awareness.
• Search Techniques.
• IED Recognition.
• Tactical Driving.
• Criminal and Civil Law.

Medical Skills

• Assessment of Scene
• Care and Assessment of Unconscious Casualty.
• Airway & Cervical Spine Management.
• Mouth to Mouth Resuscitation and CPR.
• Diabetes, Asthma, Angina, Anaphylaxis & Heart Attacks.
• Head and Spinal Injuries.
• Major Bleeds, including Stab and Gunshot Wounds.
• Fractures (Recognition and Management).
• Burns (Heat, Electrical and Chemical).
• Road Traffic Accident Management

Course Schedules

DURATION: 26 Days

REMARKS: This course can be residential or non residential.  It is conducted in Warwickshire, 35 minutes from Birmingham International.  Students do require a full driving licence.

This course is also available in modular attendance for those who are in full time civilian employment and unable to take time out to attend the 4 week course in full. Please contact us for more information.

The Protective Security course can be done in modules and can include Medical or without if the student has a current  HSE First Aid at Work.
